In short
StatusNest works on your phone. It has no account and no server of its own.
Your statuses, saved files and phone numbers never leave your device because of StatusNest.
The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which can use your device's advertising ID with your consent where required.
Who we are
StatusNest ("the app") is developed by Imtiyaz Production. This policy explains what the app does with information on your device. StatusNest is an independent app. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta.
Folder access you choose
The app can only see statuses after you pick the status folder yourself in Android's own folder picker (Storage Access Framework). Android then gives StatusNest access to that folder only. The app does not ask for "All files access".
You can remove this access at any time from Settings › Folder access in the app, or by clearing the app's data.
Files you save
When you tap Save, a copy of that photo or video is written to your phone's gallery, in Pictures/StatusNest or Movies/StatusNest. These copies stay on your phone. You can delete them from the app or from your gallery.
Status Maker images you create are saved the same way, only when you tap Save or Share.
Information stored on your device
To work properly, the app keeps a small private database and settings on your phone:
A list of files you saved (file name, size, type, date, a fingerprint used to avoid duplicates, and favourite or hidden marks).
Simple activity counts such as how many items you saved or shared. These are shown only to you on the Activity tab.
Your settings: language, grid size, default source, the country code chosen in Direct Chat, and whether you finished the tour.
This information is never uploaded by StatusNest. It is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
Direct Chat
Direct Chat opens a WhatsApp chat with a number without saving it to your contacts. The phone number and message you type are passed to WhatsApp to open the chat, and are not stored by StatusNest. Only the country code you picked is remembered. The app does not read your contacts.
Background checks and notifications
Background checks for new statuses are off by default. If you turn them on, Android runs a short check from time to time that only looks inside the folder you allowed, and the app may show a notification such as "new statuses available". Nothing is sent anywhere. You can turn this off in Settings, or block notifications in Android settings.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free app shows banner, interstitial and optional rewarded video ads provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device type and ad interactions to show and measure ads.
Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform is shown before personalised ads. You can change your choice later from Settings › Ad privacy choices.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Android settings (Google › Ads).
If you watch an optional rewarded video, ads are paused for 6 hours on that device. This is stored only on your phone.
StatusNest never gives your statuses, saved files, phone numbers or messages to the ad SDK.

Permissions
Permission Why it is used
Folder access (picker) Reads statuses only from the folder you choose.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Saves files to the gallery on Android 9 and older only.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS Shows the optional "new statuses" notification (Android 13+). You can refuse it.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED Keeps the optional background check scheduled after the phone restarts.
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Needed to load ads. The app's own features work offline.
AD_ID Lets Google AdMob use the advertising ID, as described above.
The app does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts, SMS, or accessibility services.
Sharing and selling
StatusNest does not sell your data and does not share your content with anyone. When you tap Share, Android's share sheet sends the file only to the app you pick. The only third party that receives data is Google AdMob, as explained above.
Respect other people's privacy
Statuses belong to the people who posted them. Please save or share someone's status only with their permission.
Children
StatusNest is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Deleting your data
Delete saved copies from the Saved tab or from your gallery.
Remove folder access from Settings › Folder access.
Clear everything the app stored: Android Settings › Apps › StatusNest › Storage › Clear data, or uninstall the app.
Because StatusNest has no server, there is no copy of your data held by us to delete.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes how it handles information, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
